Russian tourist flow to Indonesia exceeds pre-covid levels
Indonesia could not only fully restore the volumes of Russian tourist flow, lost during the pandemic, but also increase it. For the first 6 months of 2023, more than 10% more Russians visited the country than in the same period in 2019. The volume of current bookings allows tour operators to count on continued positive dynamics.
From the very beginning of 2023, Indonesia has set a course for an active restoration of the Russian tourist flow. By April, the values were as close as possible to the figures of the same period in 2019, and by the end of June they exceeded them.
According to the fresh Indonesian statistics, for the first 6 months of 2023, the country received 88 999 tourists from Russia. This is 11,7% more than for the first six months of 2019, when 79 670 arrivals of Russian citizens were recorded in Indonesia.
The most successful month in the first half of 2023 was January – 23 335 Russians. The lowest values are in June – 10 152 Russians. However, this is more than in June 2019, when the country accepted 8 641 Russians.
Tour operators, working in the destination, confirm the statistics that the demand for Indonesia is active and this is in the absence of a direct flight.
Based on current sales volumes, tour operators believe that Indonesia in the winter season will enter the TOP-5 or TOP-10 (depending on the company) of popular Russian destinations.
Tourists can buy a tour to Indonesia from tour operators Anex, Fun&Sun, Coral Travel, Ambotis Holidays, Space Travel, Intourist, Russian Express, Paks, etc.
