Russia is included into the TOP 3 of the most popular destinations among tourists from China in early October
“Korea, Japan and Russia became the most popular countries for international travel among the Chinese tourists during the "golden week" (from 1 to 7 October)”, - said the agency Xinhua on Monday, citing data from the State Administration of Tourism of China.
During the national holiday the numbers of Chinese tourists visiting Russia increased by 103%, compared to the same period of the last year.
“Popularity of Russia among the travelers has exceeded the expectations of experts. Simplification of visa formalities and the exchange rate encouraged the growth of interest of Chinese tourists to Russia”, - the newspaper writes.
During the "golden week", Moscow and St. Petersburg were visited by almost 9 thousand tourists from China according to the Tourist Association "The World without Borders”. According to the association, totally, 1.4 million Chinese citizens went abroad last week.
It was reported, that in the next five years 600 million Chinese tourists will make trips abroad. In the first half of 2016, 59 million Chinese tourists went to other countries.
