Russia began negotiations with Turkey on resuming flights to open the tourist season
Russia and Turkey are actively discussing the possibility of resumption of flights this summer season - such encouraging information was provided by Russian Ambassador to Ankara Alexei Yerkhov. According to him, Turkey has done a lot for the safety of tourist facilities, as well as airports and other places visited by tourists.
Moreover, the discussion is conducted at a high level. So, earlier Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu discussed a number of regional issues and the development of tourism. The Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs has already announced in its circular that Turkey expects to resume regular flights to Russia from July 15 and is awaiting confirmation from the Russian side.
In turn, Andrei Yerkhov confirmed that the issues of resumption of flights and, accordingly, tourist flow "are being studied in constant contact between the Russian and Turkish departments."
“Much has been done at airports, hotels, and other tourist places. A very interesting system of certification of safe tourism has been developed. I think, this system deserves to be studied in other countries,” the Russian ambassador said in an interview.
