Ras al-Khaimah is the second popular emirate among Russians
“United Arab Emirates Ras al-Khaimah is the second best in popularity among the Russian tourists. The first is Dubai”, - said the Director General of Tourism Development Department of the Emirate of Haitham Mattar at the "Leisure" exhibition.
For the emirate this year began with a significant decrease on the Russian market, but today the increase of tourists flow from Russia amounted 4.2% against 2015. According to Mr. Mattar, the increase was achieved primarily by the deep analysis of the Russian market, as well as strategic agreements with the Russian tour operators such as "Art-Tour», “Space Travel” and “Coral Travel”.
The direction is quite different with its low price policy - the cost of accommodation in local hotels is about 30-40% lower than in Dubai. As noted Mr. Mattar, it is quite naturally that more and more tourists tend to choose more chipper leisure and less – within the luxury-segment.
One of the defining factors for the Russian tourists is the fact that there are no strict rules about dress in the Ras al-Khaimah. Lack of alcohol prohibition and the presence of pork in the menu of hotel restaurants – all of this give the emirate additional advantage. Among the negative problems the tour operators note the distance from the shopping and entertainment centers, as well as the lack of nightlife.
