Only one tour operator left the market in Russia
Only one tour operator officially left the market, due to the collapse in the tourism industry. The support measures undertaken by the state have an effect, said Alexander Osaulenko, head of the Association of Tour Operators of the Tourism Help Association.
"The outbound tourism market is now in complete stagnation, but there is no panic, because the support of the state gives an effect," he said.
Osaulenko added that there is no movement in the register and funds. “Today, 13 tour operators have fully formed personal liability funds, another 10 companies have submitted relevant applications. Since the beginning of the crisis, only one company has left the market,” he said.
The tour operator Indigo-Tour announced the termination of activity on March 13. The company announced the impossibility of fulfilling its obligations amid declining demand and the closure of many Asian destinations.
As of April 1, 2020, 4 579 tour operators are in the Unified Federal Register of Tourism.
