Moscow and St. Petersburg were visited by 320 thousand visa-free tourists from China for the first 9 months
“Moscow and St. Petersburg were visited by nearly 320 thousand tourists from China in January-September 2016 on the basis of a visa-free exchange, which is 20% more than in the same period of the last year”, - reports the Travel Association "The World without Borders".
According to the association, the Chinese tourists spend on an average three days in Moscow and three days in St. Petersburg. In Moscow Chinese tourists prefer to visit the Kremlin, the Mausoleum of Lenin, the museum-reserve "Kolomenskoye", the Novodevichy monastery, Arbat and the Exhibition of Economic Achievements.
The low exchange rate, as well as active promotion of tourism opportunities in Russia foster the development of tourism.
The Chinese tourists are interesting in vacation in Russia, highly appreciate a simplified visa regime between our two countries. No wonder that the number of tourists visiting Moscow by the program of exchange of tourist groups amounted 80% of the total tourist flow from China. The dynamic of growth of visa-free tourist traffic is very active. In the first 9 months of 2016 only Moscow and St. Petersburg were visited by 30% more tourists than in the whole 2013 within the framework of the visa-free exchange.
