More than 850 thousand Russians visited Thailand for the first half of 2018

The flow of tourists from Russia to Thailand for the first six months of this year was about 851 thousand people, exceeding the figure of the same period of the previous year by 18.3%. In total, from the beginning of the year Russian tourists brought Thailand about 67.9 billion baht, which is 19.6% higher than last year's figure. Thus, Russia remains for Thailand as a key tourist non-Asian market, ahead of the USA, Australia and all European countries. Experts pay attention to the fact that such a positive dynamics of the tourist flow from Russia in the first half of the year is mainly due to the success of the first four months (high winter season). In January-April the number of "arrivals" to Thailand from Russian Federation was significantly higher than in the same months of the previous year. It is assumed that because of the high popularity of Turkey in this season, until the beginning of October Thailand will have relatively low popularity among the Russians. According to forecasts of Thai analysts, until October 2018 about 40-50 thousand tourists from Russian Federation will arrive in Thailand every month. It is expected that since November the tourist flow will grow significantly in comparison with the summer season.
