More than 600 thousand tourists from Ural region visited Turkey in 2017
“The opening of the Turkish direction did not affect on the popularity of other abroad destinations among Ural tourists in 2017”, - said Mikhail Maltsev, Executive Director of the Urals Tourism Association. "Despite the fears that the opening of the Turkish direction will have a negative impact on other abroad directions, first of all on the countries of Mediterranean basin and the Black Sea, these fears did not materialize (except Tunisia and Montenegro)”, - said M. Maltsev. According to him, in 2017 more than 600 thousand people from Ural region visited Turkey. "More than 600 thousand Uralians have rested in Turkey - not only in Antalya, but in Istanbul, and Dalaman too. And if we add to this number the flights from Chelyabinsk, Tyumen and other Ural cities, the number will be even more serious", - M. Maltsev explained. He noted that the popularity of the Russian south region among the residents of Ural area fell by 4%.
