Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation has sent proposals to the government concerning opening flights to Cairo
“The Russian Transport Ministry has sent proposals to the government on opening regular flights to Cairo”, - told the Head of the Ministry Maxim Sokolov. However, he added that the opening of flights between Moscow and the capital of Egypt is "the question of the nearest future". Earlier, the Minister of Transport stated that the resumption of air links with Egypt will begin with the opening of regular flights between Moscow and Cairo. He called January 2017 as an estimating date for the beginning of the flight. In this case, the opening of charter flights from Russia to the resorts of the Red Sea - Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada - will take place later. However, it is also "the question of the nearest time", - noted the Minister. The air traffic between Russia and Egypt was interrupted in November 2015. This decision was made after terrorist attack of the Russian airplane over Sinai.
