“The flow of foreigners, who come to Russia for medical treatment, increased by 35% in the first half of 2016”, - said the Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova to TASS. This statement was made at the International Investment Forum in Sochi.
"Over the past year the number of medical tourists has increased by 21% and for the first half of 2016 - by 35%, including 12% at the health resort institutions", - she said.
According to Skvortsova, the visitors often seek for planning surgical and dental care. The Minister did not specify from which countries the flow of tourists has increased.
"The foreigners really pay attention to the health resort treatment in Russia. Our company cooperates with the tourists from China and Middle East. Among the CIS, the Russian health resorts are popular for the citizens of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. First of all, they are treated in the Caucasian Mineral Waters, and amount more than 10% of the resorts’ total flow", - said the first deputy director of the health resorts network "RZD-Health” Oleg Melnikov.
