Israel increases the amount of subsidies for charters to Eilat
“The program of subsidizing charter flights from Russia to Eilat (Uvda Airport, Israel) has been extended for 2018-2019. The amount of compensation also increased by 25%”, - reported the Ministry of Tourism of Israel. "Within a framework of the subsidized flights program the Ministry of Tourism of Israel will reimburse an amount of € 60 for each passenger the companies which organize flights to Uvda airport", - the ministry said. According to the new decision, the program will be in effect from September 1, 2018 till May 31, 2019 excluding September 23-30 and April 19-26 periods. Applications for participation in the program can be made only by companies that have performed at least 16 flights to Uvda and back. The deadline for applications is October 15, 2018. Earlier, under the program of subsidizing flights to Eilat, the Ministry of Tourism of Israel reimbursed the air carriers and consolidators the amount of 45 Euros for the transportation of each tourist to Uvda airport. According to the latest data, during the period from September 3, 2017 till January 25, 2018 111 flights with an average load of 80% were performed from Russia to Uvda Airport. During the reporting period 17 643 guests from Russia arrived at Eilat, which is 5% more than in the same period last year. Russian tour operators in this winter season recorded an increase in demand for Eilat.
