Hotels in Turkey have reduced prices for Russians
Prices for accommodation in Turkish hotels of all categories are now reduced by at least 20% compared to last year, said Taras Demura, general director of the tour operator Tui Russia.
“By the end of November 2020, about 1,2 million tourists from Russia will arrive in Turkey. Of these, about 350-400 thousand will come through the tour operator Tui Russia ”, - this forecast was given by Taras Demura during an official meeting.
According to Tui, about 40% of hotels are now opened in Turkey. The price range for accommodation for Russians has been reduced in the market on average by 20-25%.
“Now prices for Turkish hotels are on average at the level of June last year. In August last year, the average price of a tour to Turkey was $ 650 per person, this year - $ 500-560,” said Mr. Demura.
About 30% of the total sales in Turkey now fall on tours postponed due to the pandemic, and 70% are new bookings. “All Tui flights to Turkey have been sold until the last week of August,” Taras Demura said, describing the current demand for Turkish resorts in Russia.
Aleksan Mkrtchyan, general director of Pink Elephant travel agency network, has even more optimistic forecasts for Russian tourist flow to Turkey. The expert is sure that Turkey will receive about 1,7 million tourists from Russia by the end of the season.
“Sales of Turkey are going well, but we expected better. The main blocking factor now is the negative information background around the holiday in Turkey. People are just afraid to fly. But the situation will change as soon as tourists start returning from their holidays in this country. In addition, the already mentioned decrease in prices of hotels in Turkey will positively affect demand,” Aleksan Mkrtchyan added.
