Coral Travel spoke about the new millions of Russian tourists in Turkey
In 2022, the volume of Russian tourist flow to Turkey will reach pre-covid indicators and amount to about 10 million tourists, as it was reported by the chairman of the board of directors of Coral Travel Joshkun Yurt.
“The pandemic had a negative impact on Turkish holiday consumers from Russia, and many of them stayed at home. In July 2021, there were no more restrictions on travel from Russia to Turkey. However, despite this, the figures decreased by 15% compared to 2019. Only in November a "good impulse" was recorded,” said Joshkun Yurt.
As a result, according to the head of Coral Travel, in 2021 there will be about 6 million organized tourists from Russia in Turkey. That's an increase in comparison with 3 million in 2020. But in 2019 that figure was 10 million. “In 2022, we expect this number will surpass 10 million again,” he added.
At the same time, Joshkun Yurt told about the Egyptian issue as a separate item. “Egypt receives tourists from Russia mainly in the off-season and a little in a summer period. I think both destinations will get their share,” he reported.
