About a million Russians visited Turkey in October

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey has published statistics, according to which about a million Russians visited the Republic in October this year.

This figure is almost twice more than the data for October 2020. Over ten months of 2021, 4,36 million Russian tourists visited Turkey, which is 130% more than in the same period last year (489,8 thousand).

The share of Russian tourists amounted to 20,7% of the total foreign tourist flow, which allowed Russia to take a leading position.

Germany is in the second place with 13%, and Ukraine is in the third one with 9,3%.

Indicators of 2019 have not yet been achieved. So, for 10 months of the pre-pandemic year, almost 6,7 million Russians visited Turkey. The decrease of tourist traffic in 2021 against 2019 is 35%.
