Consulate General urged Russian tourists in Turkey to be ready for evacuation
The Consulate General of the Russian Federation called on the Russians in the fire-hazardous regions of Turkey to be extremely careful and ready for possible evacuation, there are no Russian tourists among the victims of the fires, a representative of the Russian Consulate General in Antalya told.
"In coordination with tour operators, the prefecture and municipal services, the Consulate General kept in touch with our citizens through emergency telephone lines, advised those who applied on necessary issues, informed them about the current situation and measures taken to temporarily accommodate tourists in need. We call on our compatriots, located in the fire-hazardous regions of Turkey, be extremely careful, ready for possible evacuation and follow the instructions of the local authorities in case of an emergency," the source said.
"According to the situation at 12:00 of the current day, according to local authorities, the fire hazard for hotels in Marmaris has passed. Most of the hotels continue to function normally and receive new tourist groups. During the day, it is planned to return all tourists to hotels at their place of permanent rest," - said the representative of local authorities.
