Charter flights ensure the growth of winter Jordan
In 2017 Jordan, like many other abroad destinations, showed an increase of the volume of the Russian tourist flow. “Interest to Jordan among the Russians is steadily increasing”, - say experts of the market. The direction is interesting for tourists both prices for beach holidays and the abundance of historical sightseeing places. All tour operators state that another factor that positively affects on demand is the security of the direction: Jordan is one of the safest and stable Arab countries in the Middle East. It’s interesting, the fall of 2016 did not affect Jordan. In 2016, when both Egypt and Turkey were closed, Jordan was visited by 49.4 thousand tourists from Russia - that is 124% more than in 2015, when the country hosted 22 thousand Russians. It follows from the official statistics of the Ministry of Tourism of Jordan, that the increase of the number of Russian tourists amounted 49.1% already in the first half of 2017 (data for the 3rd and 4th quarter is not yet available on the agency's website). From October to June 24,068 Russian tourists came to the country in comparison with 16,145 for the same period of 2016. The charter’s winter season program 2017-18 immediately gave a significant increase of sales in this direction. The programs turned out to be successful. So PEGAS Touristik tour operator this year increased the frequency of flights to Aqaba up to 5 times a week and added a flight to Amman.
