Association of Tour Operators of Russia: the Tourism Flow Will Start in July

According to the Executive Director of Association of Tour Operators of Russia Mrs. Maya Lomidze the tourism flow will start in July. “We hope that Russia will be open for incoming in July or August.  It is difficult to predict how the situation will develop for outbound. Most likely other destinations will be open for Russian tourists at different periods. Nevertheless, it can be assumed that in 2021, most likely, it will be possible to travel around the world in the same way as before the pandemic,” said Mrs. Lomidze.
 
Travel market participants predict a “colossal put-up demand”. It`s a reason to believe, that the travel industry will survive, and the players will do their best to pass the period of “corona virus knockdown” in the “energy saving” mode.
 
Nevertheless, according to ATOR forecasts, the recovery of the travel market will not be fast.
 
“Even taking in account the put-up demand, the travel market will need at least 6-8 months just to start returning to the pre-crisis level,” emphasized Mrs. Lomidze.
