Analysis: what luxury hotels are in demand among Russians
In Russia a ranking of the best luxury hotel brands in the world in 2019 has been compiled. The experts of Luxury Travel Intelligence (LTI), which is engaged in research on the luxury travel market (based on 123 criteria), formed the TOP-12 hotel brands of 2019 in the luxury leisure segment.
Compared to 2018, there have been changes in the ranking. The TOP-12 included two hotel chains, which were not in the 2018 version: Como and Anantara. The leader of the list is Belmond hotels chain, which a year ago was only on the fourth position.

The other brands popular among Russians (which are not included in the TOP-12) are listed in alphabetical order: Alila, Banyan Tree, Dorchester Collection, Fairmont, Firmdale, Jumeirah, Oberoi, Park Hyatt, Peninsula, Raffles , Ritz Carlton, Rocco Forte, Shangri-La, Soho House and The Luxury Collection.
According to experts, wealthy tourists most often choose luxury hotels in countries that initially belong to expensive destinations: the Maldives, Seychelles, USA, UAE, Mauritius. But there are a lot of requests for luxury hotels in European countries.
“As for the demand for such accommodation facilities, it is quite constant. This year we did not notice any fluctuation: luxury hotels have consistently maintained a high level of booking,” comments Margarita Goncharenko from KMP Group.
