A record number of tourists from Russia will visit Vietnam in 2017
“The number of tourist arrivals from Russia to Vietnam for 10 months of 2017 increased by 38.3% against the same period of the last year - up to 457.3 thousand people”, - said the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), citing the Vietnamese National Tourism Authority. Over the past year 434,000 tourists from Russia visited Vietnam. Thus, the result for the 10 months of 2017 already exceeds the figures of entire 2016 year. The share of Russian tourist flow to Vietnam is about 4.4% of all international arrivals for 10 months of 2017 (10.5 million people). According to forecasts, the growth of the tourist flow from Russia will be at least 35-40% by the end of the year. As ATOR notes, the flow of tourists from Russia to Vietnam has been growing dynamically during the last five years, with the exception of a slight decline in 2015. The share of Russia in the general tourist flow also returns to pre-crisis levels, even despite the boom of Chinese arrivals to this country for the last two years. In 2012, the share of Russian tourists was 2.55%, in 2013 - 3.93%, in 2014 - 4.63%. Then there was a short-term decline - to 4.4% in 2015 and to 4.33% in 2016. Now the share of Russians in the total volume of tourists arriving to Vietnam has grown again up to 4.4%. At the same time, Russia leads in Vietnam by the number of tourists among all European destinations, almost double more than the number of tourists from UK (237,000 tourists) and France (208,000 tourists).
