61% of Russian tourists will replace Russian resorts with foreign ones

Analysts of Yandex.Travel conducted a survey and found out how people in Russia want to spend summer vacations. As the Yandex.Travel press service told, the survey results showed what type of vacation the Russians would choose, where they want to stay, what excursions and cafes they plan to visit, and how they change vacation plans after opening the borders. About 5 thousand people took part in the survey.

Among those, who intend to travel this summer, the majority (44%) plan a two-week trip. 32% talk about a week-long vacation, 14% talk about a three-week vacation or even longer. 10% of respondents expect only a few days holidays.

Beach vacations in the summer of 2020 are planned by 55% of respondents, 31% choose outdoor recreation, 14% - cultural and historical vacation.

When the borders open, this fact will change plans for summer vacations. In this case, of those who originally planned a vacation in Russia this summer, 61% of respondents will go abroad and 39% will stay in Russia. The list of reasons of refusal to go abroad includes the following factors: it is too expensive (49%), tourists afraid to stay for a long time abroad due to a next outbreak of coronavirus (24%), tourists afraid to get sick and stay without medical care in a foreign country (22%), tourists prefer to make holidays in Russia (5 %).
