What foreign tourist destinations are chosen by rich Russians

According to a recent analysis Premier 2017 conducted by Ipsos Comcon company, more than two-thirds of the wealthy Russian tourists, who traveled abroad in the past 12 months, used the services of travel companies. In a study conducted in April 2017, Ipsos Comcon specialists studied the lifestyle and behaviors of wealthy Russians. According to the results of the April study, three quarters (75%) of representatives at least once during the past 12 months traveled outside of Russia and CIS countries. 69% of the total number of wealthy Russians who traveled to foreign countries over the past year used travel agency services (they contacted directly the tour operators or purchased the tourist products in travel agencies). Only 31% of Russians with incomes above the average organized their foreign trips independently in the last 12 months. In the category of organized tourists (who were traveling with the help of travel companies) the list of TOP 5 countries included Thailand, Turkey, Spain, Italy and Germany. Travelers who organized tours independently, primarily, visited European countries. The TOP 5 countries visited by such tourists included Germany, Spain, Finland, Italy and - on the fifth place - "other European countries". According to the results of analysis, the cost of an average trip for one person was about 100 – 105 thousand Rubles.
