Weakening of the National Currency Resulted in Loss of 17 Billion Rubles to Aeroflot
The company report for 2014 stated that losses are determined by so cold paper corrections, without them net profit of Aeroflot totaled more than 10.8 billion rubles.
As of year-end 2014, revenue of Aeroflot Group exceeded 319 billion rubles which is 9.9 per cent more than a year before. In addition, the revenue of regular traffic increased for 10 per cent and amounted more than 253.6 billion rubles.
Although, in spite of revenue increase, the company lost 17.1 billion rubles, where 9.72 billion rubles is loss of difference in rate of exchange.
In 2014, the Russian air companies transported in total 93.18 billion people which is for 10.2 per cent more than in 2013 (according to data of Russian Aviation). Meanwhile, the number of passengers on international flights went up for 3.5 per cent, on domestic flights – for 17.9 per cent. The portion of empty seats in aircrafts on domestic routes went down in average for 0.3 per cent (from 20.5 per cent to 20.2 per cent), and went up on international routes in average for 0.2 per cent (from 17.9 per cent to 18.1 per cent).
The total number of passengers, transported by Aeroflot Group (it includes such airlines as Aeroflot, Russia, Pobeda, Aurora, Donavia, and Orenburg Airlines) totaled 34.7 million people which overreached the result of last year for 10.7 per cent. Passenger flow has increased on domestic flights for 26 per cent, and on international – for 1.7 per cent.
