According to official statistics, the numbers of Russian tourists in Taiwan is increasing. For January - May 2019, 6,844 travelers from Russia visited the island, which are two more than for the same period of 2018. The launch of direct flights from Moscow and Vladivostok to Taipei and the abolition of visa regime between the countries promoted the increasing of tourist traffic.
The visa-free entry regime between Taiwan and Russia operated in a test mode from September 6, 2018 to July 31, 2019. Thanks to this innovation, not only the trade, economic and cultural ties between the countries was strengthened, but also the flow of tourists from Russia increased significantly.
According to official statistics, after introduction of the “trial period” in 2018, more than 10,000 Russian tourists visited Taiwan. Such categories of tourists as businessmen, families with children and solo travelers chose a popular destination. Previously, the visa fee was more than $ 100 and travelers could get a visa to Taiwan only in Moscow. At the moment, the price of the trip has become more affordable. Now it is possible to get to major cities of Taiwan by connecting flights of such airlines as Aeroflot, Singapore Airlines, AirFrance, Korean Air, etc. And since May 2019, a direct flight of S7 Airline connects Vladivostok and Taipei.
