Tour operators sopped selling tours to Sri Lanka
Since April 23, travel service providers have suspended the sale of new tours and ground handling services in Sri Lanka - but there is no demand for them. At the same time, tourists who have already bought tours to this country are not in a hurry to cancel their paid reservations.
Recall, on April 23 Rosturizm in its information letter recommended that Russian citizens refrain from traveling to Sri Lanka for tourist purposes in connection with the series of explosions that took place in the country on April 21 and killed 310 people, including 40 foreigners, among whom there were no Russian tourists. This was reported on the web site of Rosturizm.
The agency recommended that Russian tour operators and travel agents suspend the promotion and sale of tourist products, as well as individual tourist services in Sri Lanka, until the situation normalizes in the country.
Representatives of travel agencies should also be required to inform Russian tourists who have entered into and / or planning to conclude agreements on the sale of tourist products to Sri Lanka, on the current situation in the country.
Most tour operators, selling tours to Sri Lanka, have temporarily suspended the sale of tours starting from April 23.
So, at the moment, the sale of tours to Sri Lanka is not available from tour operators ANEX Tour, Coral Travel, TEZ Tour, ICS Travel Group, Biblio-Globus, PEGAS Touristik, Russian Express.
“After the events that took place, sales in this area simply stopped. There are no orders. But if we have a request for Sri Lanka, we will immediately inform the client and deny the booking based on the recommendations of the Rostourism,” said the representative of TEZ Tour. The company ANEX Tour, in turn, said that sales for the next high season were not even open.
