Early booking of a summer holiday in Greece is already available for tourists from different regions of the Russian Federation. Russians buy tours in advance, saving up to 55%. For 2024, tour operators are increasing their flight program to Greece and counting on positive sales dynamics. In 2023, sales volumes of some tour operators increased by 30%, but are not comparable in absolute figures with pre-Covid levels.
In Tez Tour company, based on the results of the end of 2023, Greece confidently is in the TOP 3 popular European destinations, occupying a leading position.
“Demand in this destination is 1,71 times higher than last year; 88% of the total number of booked tours is for accommodation services only. Hotel preferences are mainly 5* and 5* Deluxe. According to the duration of trips: 39% of tourists preferred a week-long stay, 33% booked tours for 10 days, 15% made holidays during two-week and about 5% bought tours lasting 17-35 nights,” said Tez Tour press service.
Nowadays, tourists can already book tours to Greece from Russian Express, Pac Group, Ambotis Holidays, Pegas Touristik with good discounts reaching 55%.
“The main transportation for the summer is supposed to be through Istanbul, Tbilisi, Yerevan, Belgrade and Dubai,” said Pac Group.
Pegas Touristik has a block flight program which starting on May 27 on Southwind and Turkish Airlines to the island of Crete (Heraklion) with a connection in Antalya. Today, flights from 9 cities of the Russian Federation are presented: Moscow (Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo), Saint Petersburg, Ekaterinburg, Kazan, Samara, Kaliningrad, Chelyabinsk, Arkhangelsk and Omsk.
“Despite the fact that proposals for Greece for 2024 have only recently been published, sales have already begun. We are pleased with the current pace of bookings of tours to Crete. There are sales both for spring dates, summer period and right up to the departure date of September 12,” states Pegas Touristik.
Tour operators believe their volumes in Greece could be increased in 2024.
