Top-10 Destinations for Russians for May Holidays
The popular online booking service Anywayanyday published a top 10 holiday destinations for Russians for May holidays. The leader is Sochi: the demand for flights to Sochi increased by 80% compared to last year. The second position is taken by Tel Aviv, the third by Mineralnye Vody and fourth by Simferopol. Paris, a leader of last year ranking, now appeared only in the fifth place.
According to company news release, the last year's list of top destinations for May holidays consisted exclusively of foreign cities. Cities such as Rome, Barcelona, Milan, London, Munich, Berlin, this time, according to Anywayanyday, are not even in the top ten. But there are Prague, Amsterdam, Vienna, Istanbul and Antalya.
TourDom.ru requested similar statistics from another popular booking service Biletix.ru, where the rating was significantly different. Number one is Simferopol, number two is Tel Aviv, number three is Istanbul followed by Sochi. The list also includes such cities as Barcelona, Berlin, Larnaca, Paris, Milan and Prague, as well Yerevan and Tbilisi.
These differences can be explained by the period of counting and the characteristics of the audience, Anywayanyday told. Anyway, experts say that the general trend is obvious. A significant amount of traffic demand reoriented towards domestic destinations. The demand for foreign destinations is only for the most budjet trips. "The average check is now about 10 thousand rubles, almost the same as the last year. This is achieved by a huge number of special offers of airlines,” Dmitry Gorin, General Director of Vipservis, says.
