There are 43 thousand passengers of "VIM-Avia" abroad
“Until the end of the current week an unscheduled inspection will be held in “Vim-Avia” Company and at that time the state bodies seek funds to send back passengers”, - the press service of association “Tourist assistance” reported on Tuesday, September 26. At the moment it is known that the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia has demanded from the air carrier to immediately remedy the violation revealed during the inspection by the supervisory authority. In the case the situation does not change, under the threat may be tourists who are either already abroad or just intend to fly abroad. According to the information received from tour operators, there are 43 thousand people abroad who were previously transported by VIM-Avia flights to Turkey, Greece, Italy and Spain. "Currently "Tourist assistance" continues to collect information from tour operators in order to determine the number and location of tourists abroad who plan to come back by this airline. Unfortunately, this issue does not belong to the competence of the association, since it is not about the bankruptcy of the tour operator, but about the bankruptcy of the transport company. And since in this situation citizens are not in the category of "tourists", but in the category of "passengers" - the regulators in this matter are the Ministry of Transport of Russian Federation and the Federal Air Transport Agency", - "Tourist assistance" comments the situation. At the same time, it is noted that all the participants of the process expect concrete decisions from the executive authorities on the way out of the current situation. Recall, on September 25 immediately after the meetings of the operational headquarter of the Federal Air Transport Agency, it was decided to suspend the activities of VIM-Avia company and the termination of its flights.
