The Russian tourist flow to Eilat grew by 122%
Representatives of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in Russia and the CIS said about increasing of tourist flow to Israel during the business breakfast for the partners of ICS Travel Group tour operator, which is one of the leading operators on this destination. Tatiana Boltenko marketing manager of the Department of the Ministry of Tourism of Israel in Russia and the CIS, stressed in an interview, that following the results of the first quarter of 2017 the department noted 35% growth in the direction: totally, 70,500 tourists from Russia arrived in the country. The growth of tourist traffic in January 2017 was 23%, in February -54%, and in March - 32%. The Ministry of Tourism of Israel believes, that the balanced transportation affected on the positive results. Between October 2, 2016 and March 30, 2017, 141 flights were carried out with an average load of 82%. In the upcoming season (which begins in September), the Ministry of Tourism of Israel also hopes on further growth of the tourist flow from Russia, which, among other things, will be stimulated by a subsidy program for tour operators, who perform charter program to Eilat (Uvda Airport). According to the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, after opening of the new airport “Ramon”, the program of subsidies for flights to Eilat for Russian airlines and tour operators is planned to be automatically extended on this airport too.
