According to ATOR, 70,935 Russian tourists visited the Maldives in 2018, which is 14.5% more than in the previous year, when 61,931 tourists rested on the islands.
In general, foreign tourists flow to the Maldives grew by 6.8% for 2018. Most often, tourists from China rested in the country. After them are Germans, British, Italians and Indians. Russia is on the sixth position on tourist traffic to the Maldives: so, the country's share is 4.8% of the total number of tourists.
As a rule, the Russian on average spend 7-8 nights on the islands. Last year the average price of trips to the Maldives in the Russian Federation was about $ 5,000 per person, the minimum cost - $ 2,000.
Following the results of last year, the Maldives remains the most popular exotic destination in the Indian Ocean among Russians.
