The most popular northern European destinations in 2017
According to the estimates of tour operators, Finland, Sweden and Norway are in TOP 3 of the most popular destinations in northern Europe for the autumn period. In the summer season, it is noted a permanent growing interest in sightseeing trips to Iceland and Norway, which is connected with better weather conditions in these areas. Also, the demand for ferry travel to Denmark and Sweden is increasing, but to these countries most often individual travelers are traveling.
As explained in the press service of the tour operator BSI GROUP, for the autumn period the demand for Scandinavia directions traditionally falls. "This is connected with weather conditions, as well as with a shorter daylight", - the company said, noting that in autumn period most often tourists go to the sea or choose sightseeing tours along the central European countries - France, Germany, Italy, Spain.
Going to Northern Europe, tourists try to visit several countries. "More often the tourists buy group excursion tours. Due to the high cost of Scandinavian destinations there is a demand for combined trips. But at the same time there are a lot of individual bookings", - the Russian Express Company reported.
The BSI GROUP also noted that in addition to ready-made sightseeing routes individual programs were also in demand, including combined tours with visits several countries, for example, tours to Denmark and the cities of northern Germany.
As representatives of the companies say, among the trends of this year there is a greater demand for excursion tours.
