The Last Flights To Goa From Russia Are Planned for April Instead of May
The tourist season in Goa is about to end; tour operators are close to finish their flight programs. Tour operator BTA Group, for example, is completing its flight program on April 4. CEO of the company Revaz Mgeladze says that transportation had to turn off early, as demand fell. Usually the flights on this destination finish in mid-May. So it was in the past two years. Overall drop in numbers of tourists in Goa this season Mgeladze estimates by 50 per cent.
Pegas Touristik also plans to finish their program earlier. According Anna Podgornaya, CEO of Pegas Touristik, last flights are appointed to Moscow on April 6, to St. Petersburg on April 4, to Ufa on April 5, to Ekaterinburg on April 2, and to Perm on April 10. “We are satisfied with results of this season, the load of flights was almost 100 per cent,” she says. But this result was achieved, as she admitted, due to significant optimization up to 30 per cent. However, most of regional programs to Goa were accomplished.
Biblio Globus plans to finish the season as usual in May. The final flight of Transaero in this season on the route Moscow - Goa and Ekaterinburg - Goa will be operated on May 13, Novosibirsk – Goa – on May 15. According to Xenia Markovchina, PR-manager of Biblio Globus, the company positively evaluates the results of the season.
Experts say that introduction of an electronic visa (was launched on October 2014) was the most significant event of the season, nevertheless, it did not affect significantly the tourist flow.
