The experts do not expect big demand for a second international passport for Russians

Referring to the representatives of travel industry, Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) does not expect big demand for a second international passport for Russians. Although, the service will be in demand by certain categories of tourists. "The second passport is necessary for businessmen, journalists, in other words, for frequent travelers as well as for citizens living in several countries," the PR-director of TEZ Tour Company Larissa Akhanova said.

According to representatives of the tourism industry, there are not so many travelers who need urgently to change the passport due to the fact that there are no remaining pages. But often there are situations when a passport is in a Consulate for a long time for obtaining a visa, and this time a citizen can not leave even to a visa-free country.

"The second passport is definitely an additional advantage, especially for frequent travelers and people who often go on business trips to the Schengen countries. For example, if a tourist applies to a visa of the United Kingdom, he/she should wait for a month, until the Consulate returns the passport, " the press department of Intourist said.

Experts also point out that the presence of a second passport will help those who can not enter one country because of a stamp of another, the country unfriendly state. For example, when it comes to visit Northern Cyprus and Cyprus, or countries such as Saudi Arabia and Israel.

On Thursday, the Federal Migration Service of Russia, the Russian government sent a proposal to legalize the possibility for Russians to have two simultaneous international passports. It should create additional comfort for travelers. Now two interational passports can be issued only in case of a need.
