Singapore Airlines increases the number of places for the Russian market.
“Singapore Airlines” company will close the direct air communication between Moscow and American Houston from November 1. However, the authority of the carrier decided to keep Moscow in the winter schedule as the destination of flight”, - regional Vice President of the Singapore Airlines in Europe Subhas Menon told reporters. Other routes to Russia are not yet considered, but it is possible that a member of the “Singapore Airlines” group - “Scoot” airline low cost company – may launch flights to Russia – in Vladivostok and St Petersburg. According to him, the opening of a direct flight between the two oil capitals Moscow and Houston was a good decision, but after 2014 the passenger traffic between the two cities has decreased significantly. «Singapore Airlines”, taken into account the stability of the Russian market, has decided to save Moscow not as a transit, but as the main point for the flight. Now we will have four flights to Moscow instead of five flights through Moscow. The flights occupancy between Moscow and Singapore remains at a stable level - much higher than on the route Moscow - Houston. It is noted in the airline company that every year the number of trips from Russia to Asian countries is increasing. "More and more tourist and business trips from Russia is committed to Asia. We also noticed, that travelers want to visit more countries for a single trip”, - said Mr. Menon. - We are corresponding ideally to this trend, because the flights we are committing through the "Changi" airport to the countries of South-East Asia, to Australia and New Zealand".
