Russian tourists actively booking Turkey and Greece instead of Russian resorts
“Tour companies are noting a decline in demand for Russian Black Sea resorts and significant growth for Turkey”, - said Irina Tyurina the press-secretary of the Russian Union of Travel Industry.
"This year, it is noted a failure of sales to the Krasnodar region, but a notable growth to Turkey and Greece. In January-February - it is two or three times. Every day we have several bookings for these countries, such picture we didn’t see for a long time", - said the General Director of the Saratov company "Laguna-tour" Dmitry Anpilogov.
As added the Director of the Ryazan travel agency “Velvet Seasons” Svetlana Konstantinova, -“now the conditions for booking resorts in Turkey and Greece are magnificent. There are options, when you can pay 10-20% of the total cost of the tour now, and the rest sum - during the time before it starts”.
According to Sergey Agafonov, the General Director of the “Network of Burning Tours Shops, - “now Turkey is the undisputed leader. Turkey resorts account 21% of the total sales of the company (at the same time, Russia - 11%, Cyprus - 7%, Greece - 6%). The demand for summer season is generally very good, but it's hard to say - how long it will be last. Perhaps now, the most active part of tourists is buying the tours, and then all the sales will slow down".
According to experts, Turkey and Greece attract Russian tourists by, first of all, a good balance of price and quality of leisure.
However, at the same time, according to the participants of the tourism market - the price / quality is not the only reason of significant growth. After two years of pause, the effect of deferred demand became acting.
