Prices for New Year's Maldives fell by 40%

Tour operators announced unexpected news: in the winter season 2023/2024, many hotels in the Maldives have made seasonal special offers for the New Year, which is very rare event, and this will lead to falling in price by 40% of some New Year tours to the Maldives.

The main reason is the return of most competitors to the Russian market, including Thailand, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Mauritius, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. And they are actively fighting - including prices - to bring back tourists who, in the last 1-2 seasons, actively traveled to the Maldives due to the lack of other beach alternatives.

There is another factor: after a 30-40% increase in prices many hotels in the Maldives faced a decrease in the number of requests from the Russian market.

As a result, Maldivian hoteliers are now trying to change the situation with the help of special offers and other incentives, offering discounts even for the New Year dates, which is extremely rare. “The assortment is very wide: discounts range from 5% to 40% depending on the hotel. Additional bonuses are also offered, for example, cancellation of the mandatory surcharge for a gala dinner, free transfer, food upgrade,” explained Russian Express.

Among the hotels that provide a 40% discount, Space Travel named Radisson Blu 5* - the hotel gives a 40% discount for tours based on breakfast for all room categories for New Year's arrivals. Anex proposes Holiday Inn Kandooma, which also offers a 40% discount on accommodation, and adding to this - children under 13 years old stay and eat here free of charge. A similar discount is provided by Grand Park Kodhipparu.
