Nepal’s Tourism is back to business in the Russian market
To convey the message that Nepal’s tourism is back to business in the Russian market, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) was participating in MITT 2017 on March 14-16 and jointly organizing Sales Mission in 3 cities of Russia and 1 city of Finland with Society of Travel and Tour Operators (SOTTO) Nepal on March 24-April 4, 2017. Sales Mission is scheduled for cities-Moscow, St. Petersburg, Ekaterinburg and Helsinki. The main focus of this sales mission is to reconnect the travel industry of Nepal to Russia and Europe with reinforced energy and new strategy. NTB along with delegates from 25 Travel Trade companies are participating in sales mission which is expected to reach out to the target market with the latest information and updates on the tourism front. Tourists’ arrival in Nepal from Russian Federation has been increasing over the recent years. According to the official record, 4,895 Russians have come to Nepal in 2015 and 4,998 in 2016 with average 16.60 days long stay. Considering its rapid recovery and keeping in view its unmatched products, Nepal was voted “Number 1 Destination to Visit in 2016” by Rough Guides based in UK. Similarly, Nepal ranked 6th in National Geographic Traveler Magazine’s “Cool List 2016” and was also featured in Fodor’s “Go List 2016”, and Forbes’ “14 Coolest Places to Visit in 2016”. Lonely Planet has named Nepal ‘Best Value Destination’ for 2017 and 5th on the top 10 countries in the world to visit in 2017. Such news and positive feedback have helped the industry bounce back better.
