Mutual tourist flow between Russia and Japan will reach 400 thousand by 2023
According to the estimates of adviser of the Japanese Embassy on economic issues Yoshinori Takazawa, mutual tourist flow between Russia and Japan will reach at least 400 thousand by 2023, 200 thousand travelers from each side.
"The flow of tourists will be almost doubled in five years. We consider it is possible to reach this level," he said.
Takazawa added that in 2018, 95 thousand Russians visited Japan, while 105 thousand Japanese came to Russia. "The tourist flow from Russia to Japan as of September 2019 increased by 20%. We can expect a further increase of the flow by the end of the year," he stressed.
Takazawa underlined that in Japan, tourists may be interested not only in Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, but also in other regions and cities.
