More than 100 thousand Russian tourists have visited the Maldives since the beginning of the year. Russia is the second in terms of tourist flow for this period among foreign countries - it follows from the statistics of the country's Ministry of Tourism.

In total, from January 1 to June 18, 2023, 103 thousand Russian tourists arrived in the Maldives. This is only 500 people less than from India, which took the first place in terms of the number of tourists.

In the third place is Great Britain with 77 thousand tourists. The top five countries also includes Germany and Italy (63 and 62 thousand tourists, respectively).

In total, since January 1, 876,4 thousand foreign tourists have arrived in the archipelago. For the whole of last year, this figure amounted to 1,67 million.

Earlier, the Russian Union of the Tourism Industry reported that for the summer season, hoteliers in the Maldives began to reduce prices, which brought prices in this destination closer to those in Turkey. Discounts reach 60%.
