MITT 2021 opened the season of tourism exhibitions in Russia (offline)
On 16-18 March 2021 MITT opened the season of tourism exhibitions in Russia. This year, the 27th International Travel and Tourism Trade Show was held for the first time at Crocus Expo (Myakininskaya metro station)
It was one of the most waiting events for travel trade industry in Russia. First of all, because of its offline format.
Only two pavilions (in comparison to many several years ago) looked more alive and packed with people than never. Travel agents, tour operators, managers of national tourism offices and destination management companies came to MITT to meet in person and have a live talk without computer screen barrier.
One of two pavilions was fully dedicated to domestic tourism. It was that moment when these stands were visited by more people that their international competitors. For example, the Altai Republic has increased its stand almost fourfold. Exhibiting countries at MITT 2021 were: Turkey, Greece, Abkhazia, Maldives, Catalonia, Malaysia, Nicaragua, Cuba, Thailand, Montenegro, Israel, Bulgaria, Saxony and Albania, and the city of Alma-Ata. The stand of Armenia had more than 20 companies.
Tour operator Mouzenidis Travel was presented on the stand of Greek National Tourism organisation (having the best position just in front of the entrance), as well as Tez Tour. Tui Russia had the big stand in the same hall representing partner hotels in Turkey and some other countries. Art Tour had its own stand too.
All three days of MITT were accompanied by a comprehensive business programme. In total, the exhibition hosted 14 events with more than 80 speakers, including MITT Digital Tourism IT Conference.
