Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria supported the abolition of visas for tourists from the Russian Federation
The Ministry of Tourism of Bulgaria supports the abolition of visas for citizens of Russia and Turkey. This was stated by the head of the Ministry, Nikolina Angelkova.
As she said, it is the Russians and Turkish citizens who are the most frequent guests of Bulgaria, so the abolition of the visa regime will have a very positive effect on the restoration of the country's tourism sector after the crisis.
According to the Minister’s forecasts, the summer season in Bulgaria should start from June 15. However, common decisions regarding tourists will be agreed together with the EU. “We need a single policy. At the moment, we are discussing the introduction of a special declaration in which everyone arriving in the country will have to declare that he is not infected with coronavirus,” she explained.
At the same time, Nikolina Angelkova does not assess the current situation with the hotel business as critical, since there was no information about the bankruptcy of hotels and tour operators.
