Lufthansa cancelled flights to Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow
Lufthansa Airlines suspends flights to Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow (Vnukovo airport) from Frankfurt, the air carrier said in a statement.
"Unfortunately, the current economic situation does not allow to keep flying at the proper level of profitability. However, Lufthansa will consider the possibility of resuming flights as soon as the economic situation stabilizes," it is said in a statement.
Lufthansa said that flights from Samara and Nizhny Novgorod will be suspended from September 6 and 7, respectively. Flights from Vnukovo airport will be suspended from August 31.
"Lufthansa airline has decided to consolidate its flights to Moscow and do all the flight program to Frankfurt airport from Domodedovo," the air carrier said.
The press department of Lufthansa also noted that the winter schedule of the carrier will be two flights from St. Petersburg to Frankfurt and one flight from Saint Petersburg to Munich. In addition, the company will perform daily four flights a day from Domodedovo to Frankfurt and two flights a day from Domodedovo to Munich.
