Kolkheti National Park is the winner of the World Travel Awards
Georgia's Kolkheti National Park has been named «Georgia's Leading National Park 2025» by the prestigious World Travel Awards. This recognition reinforces Kolkheti Park's importance as one of the country's most important natural symbols.
The park is located in western Georgia, between the Black Sea coast and the Colchis Lowland. It covers approximately 29,000 hectares, including relict marshes, Lake Paliastomi, and the Pichori River Delta.
Kolkheti is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Colchis Forest and Wetland Area, a unique ecosystem where species that have existed since ancient Colchis are preserved. Over 190 species of birds, rare amphibians, and plants can be seen here, and the area itself is considered a living museum of subtropical nature.
