Japanese airline JAL will open flights from Tokyo to Vladivostok in spring 2020
Japan Airlines (JAL) will begin direct regular flights from Tokyo to Vladivostok in the spring of 2020, previously Japanese carriers were not presented on this route. The possibilities of increasing the tourist flow to Japan were discussed by Oleg Kozhemyako, the head of the Primorskiy Region, and Yoshiharu Ueki, the chairman of the board of directors of Japan Airlines. In the framework of the summer schedule of Vladivostok International Airport, JAL will operate daily flights to Tokyo using Boeing-737-800 with a capacity of about 150 people. A report of Vladivostok International Airport informs that JAL plans to operate flights daily on Boeing-737-800 aircraft.
Currently, the flights Vladivostok-Tokyo are operated by Russian airlines S7 and Aurora (part of the Aeroflot group). Earlier, the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced the start of flights on Tokyo-Vladivostok route, starting in 2020.
