Two major tour operators, Intourist and Mouzenidis Travel, agreed on a strategic partnership in Greece. The tour operators will carry out joint contracting of hotels in Greece and become partners in air transportation. This was announced by the top managers of tour operators as part of the summer programs.
As Sergey Tolchin, the Intourist Executive Director, said - Greece is a strategic destination for the company in summer season 2019.
According to him, Intourist considers various options of the development of this destination. As a result, a decision was made on a strategic partnership with Mouzenidis Travel tour operator.
As Mr. Tolchin stressed, Mouzenidis Travel is a “local tour operator”, which has been working in Greece for many years and can quickly resolve all issues on the ground. In turn, according to a top manager, Intourist is an “understandable joint partner” for Mouzenidis.
According to Sergey Tolchin, combining the efforts of the tour operators will make it possible to expand business on the Greek market, including balanced transportation.
Intourist at the first stage will focus on sales of the mainland Greece. In order to effectively sell this product, Intourist has already arranged a workshop in Thessaloniki.
“The next step is to get jointly a significant market share on such mass and popular Greek destinations, as Crete and Rhodes,” says Sergey Tolchin.
According to the sales manager of Mouzenidis Travel, Spartakos Michaelides, the tour operators have already begun the process of joint sales of hotels in Greece. “Intourist has excellent integration with our hotel base,” said Mr. Michaelides.
“The regions of Greece which are represented by Mouzenidis Travel are Halkidiki, Evia, Kavala, Thassos, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Zakynthos, Crete, Rhodes and Athens. Our database includes 1,500 hotels throughout Greece and thousands of guaranteed rooms in all regions of the country.
Among them is our own chain of Bomo hotels, in which there are 21 objects aimed for a family audience, as well as Grecotel chain. Thanks to our partnership with Intourist, the number of air seats on the Greek destination will increase by 15% this summer season,” says Spartakos Michaelides
