In April Japan was visited by a record number of Russians
“In April 2017, 9 thousand Russians visited Japan, this is an absolute record”, - reported in the Japanese National Tourist Organization (JNTO).
"The number of Russians, who visited the country in April 2017, increased by 66% against the same period of the previous year and amounted 9 thousand people, which is an absolute record since the beginning of statistical observations. In January-April, 24.2 thousands Russians entered Japan, this is 35.8% more than during four months of 2016 (17.8 thousand)", - noted JNTO.
According to the representatives of the organization, the rapid growth of the tourist flow from Russia is the result of simplification of procedure of Japanese visas since January 2017, the reduction of prices of air tickets and the increase of the number of direct flights from the cities of Far East.
According to the Federal State Statistics Service, in 2016 Japan was visited by 47.3 thousand tourists from Russia, which is 3% more than a year earlier.
