In 2020 Russian tourist flow to Turkey decreased by 69,7%
These are the official figures of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In 2020, this country recorded just over 2,1 million tourist arrivals from Russia. In 2020, the Russian Federation again became the number 1 of source tourist market for Turkey.
According to a statistical report for 2020 published by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, 12,7 million foreigners visited the country, which is 72% less than in 2019 (45 million).
At the end of 2020, Russia again was in the first place among all countries in terms of incoming tourist traffic to Turkey with a share of 16,72% of the total number of foreign arrivals. The share of the Russian Federation in the Turkish market has grown - in 2019 it was 15,57%, and in 2018 – 15,1%.
In 2020, citizens of the Russian Federation made 2 128 758 trips to Turkey. This is only 30,3% of the record results of 2019 (7 017 657 trips of Russian citizens).
Last year, Turkey's tourism revenues fell by 65,1% against the previous year (up to $ 12 059 320 000). The average daily expenses of 1 foreigner in Turkey in 2020 were $ 70. In 2019, this figure was $ 73 per person per day.
