General Consulate of Hungary in Kazan to suspend issuing Schengen visas from September
From September, General Consulate of Hungary in Kazan temporarily stops issuing Schengen visas the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) said on Wednesday.This is associated with the introduction of fingerprinting procedures.
Earlier it was reported that after the introduction of biometrics, Russians will be able to obtain Hungarian visas in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg. It is also planned to organize this process in Kazan.
"Unfortunately, at the General Consulate of Hungary in Kazan there will not be such a possibility by September. We are still working hard to create the conditions for the issuance of visas", - ATOR quots message of diplomatic corps.
Unified Visa Information System (VIS) of the EU will start to operate in Russia from September 14, 2015. Under the new rules, when applying for a Schengen visa, the applicant has to go through the procedure of fingerprinting and provide a digital photograph.
