For the early booking of ski tours the greatest demand is for France. And hotels in Austria are gradually switching to direct customers
Early booking of ski tours for the season-2016/2017 is actively going on. Most applications are for January period after the New Year holidays, when prices fall significantly.
Thus, in PAC GROUP sales of tours by the early booking program started in mid-June and today demand exceeds the last year's level by an average of 15%. "Traditionally, high demand is for Alps ski tours. Also this year agents have a great interest in New Year's Norway, where flights were suspended during the crisis period, and Finland where family holidays are especially popular during the New Year holidays", - said the press service of the tour operator.
In addition, the company noted that the depth of sales has increased, active bookings are going on not only for New Year holidays, but also for the entire season.
Carlson Tourism tour operator told that 99% of the shares for early booking do not “fall” on the period of New Year's holidays, all of it are for "low" dates, and come from hotels. In the tour operator’s offices early booking started since May and will last until October, but significant number of requests are expected in August.
According to the company, France and Switzerland are leading on demand, while the most popular resorts are Three Valleys, Courchevel and Meribel in France, St. Moritz and Zermatt in Switzerland. Prices compared to the last year almost did not change even in expensive hotels. But Austria is decreasing in demand structure.
According to observers, in the future this country may even leave the professional market, as local hotels are heavily give the commission and are increasingly targeting on the direct clients.
Tatiana Korshunova, Director of promotion of Jet Travel, generally agrees with this thesis, but believes that Austria still has the potential for the work with tour operators. France and Austria are leading this year on an early booking from the tour operator.
