Dumping Prices at Sochi Destination On Summer 2015

The executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators (ATOR) of Russia Maya Lomidze reported about that to TASS.

Low-cost airline of Aeroflot, Pobeda Airline, organizes regular flights to Sochi, which reduces cost of tour packages to Sochi. Tour operators also actively work on that destination without any interferer from city government. Taking into account such activity, we cannot exclude the possibility of dumping prices from tour operators”, Lomidze said.

According to her, "this year there was a decrease in the cost of accommodation in Sochi hotels. For example, in a four star hotel you can stay for 3.5 - 4 thousand rubles a day." The Executive Director of the Association pointed out that "the cost of summer tours in Sochi is about 2-3 thousand roubles cheaper than in Turkey."

On Tuesday, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that the government is preparing a draft federal law, which shall ensure the implementation of measures for the development of Sochi, including ski cluster.

According to the mayor of Sochi Anatoly Pakhomov, if earlier, on average per year, the city was visited by 4 million tourists, then over the winter months 2015, a million tourists already came. Winter resort facilities were filled up to 65%, Pakhomov added.
