Demand for tours to Vietnam will grow in the regions
Over the first two months of 2019 Russian tourist flow to Vietnam increased by 4%. Experts see in the recent initiative of Vietnam Airlines the great opportunities for growth in demand among regional tourists.
According to Vietnamese National Tourism Administration (VNAT), over the first 2 months of 2019 almost 147,000 Russian arrivals were recorded in the country. This is 4% more than in the same period of 2018. For comparison: this is more than the Russian tourist flow to Cuba (137 thousand) or to Croatia (135 thousand) for the whole 2018.
In February alone, almost 71 thousand of the Russians (+ 6%) visited Vietnam.
Russian tour operators confirm the Vietnamese statistics: sales of the destination in the current winter season have increased. According to market participants, the demand increased on average from 5 to 15%. Especially Vietnam was actively booked for holiday dates in March. According to Elena Luzherenko, the head of the Russian Express tour operator, the sale of tours for the March began at the end of the last year.
ANEX Tour is also satisfied with the sales of Vietnamese destination: in the winter season the tour operator has charter chains with AZUR airline to Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. "Vietnam is represented year-round with charter transportation of AZUR air, which indicates a steady demand for the destination," the ANEX Tour press service said.
According to Anna Filatovskaya, the PR-director of the tour operator ICS Travel Group, compared to last year the demand for Vietnam grew by 15-20%, the depth of sales already reaches July.
According to the observations of tour operators, after the March holidays, tours to Vietnam are also actively booked for the long May holidays, despite the fact that the cost of the product for this peak period is expectedly higher.
Also, from July 2019 Vietnam Airlines will shift its Russian flights from Domodedovo airport to Sheremetyevo. In fact, the expert says, this is a step towards the launching by Aeroflot and Vietnam Airlines the code-share flights on domestic routes in Vietnam and Russia.
